Highland Park, Los Angeles, is home to artists, trendy shops, ethnic restaurants and galleries — and soon, a new Pacific Union LA office. The northeast Los Angeles neighborhood has steadily rebuilt itself into a diverse, vibrant neighborhood through gentrification and revitalization efforts, and Pacific Union is eager to offer its real estate expertise in the historic area.
Pacific Union is the top independent real estate brokerage in California, and its LA offices were formed in 2018. Its Highland Park office will open inside the historic Frank’s Camera building on Figueroa Street.
About Highland Park, Los Angeles
The Highland Park, Los Angeles, area took shape in the 20th century, an artistic community filled with the popular craftsman homes of the Arts and Crafts Movement. A few miles from downtown LA, just south of Eagle Rock and Pasadena, the area has had its high points and its low points. It once struggled with gang activity and the razing of historic homes, but in the early 2000s, a diverse mix of people began to arrive in Highland Park to buy and revitalize the homes that remained.
As with Eagle Rock and Echo Park, Highlands Park has seen gentrification, with the neighborhood reclaiming its status as a mecca for artists, shops, restaurants and bars. With a Metro Gold Line stop on Figueroa, the area has become more walkable, adding urban appeal for younger people attracted to a pedestrian lifestyle. Meanwhile, its tree-lined residential streets and longtime businesses add historic charm.
